Exciting New Staff Changes
Now that Käthe Larick has assumed her new role as our Youth Programs Coordinator, it's time to welcome our new Religious Education Assistant and Adult Education Coordinator, Chris Christenson. Chris is not a new face for many of you. He and his wife have been active at First church for many years.

Chris was born and raised in New Hampshire. After graduating from Plymouth State University in Secondary Education, he entered the Peace Corps and served as a teacher in Chuuk, Micronesia. After the Peace Corp, Chris joined the corporate training world to develop and support many education projects, domestic and international, in a variety of technical areas - along the way obtaining a Master’s in Education from SDSU. While in Chuuk, he married a fellow volunteer, Patricia. They have now been married 33 years. Patricia is a Member of this church, which they have attended for over fifteen years. They have an adopted son, Alexander, who attended our religious education program. Alex graduated from Whittier College in 2007 and is now working as an Application Analyst for a local software development company.

Chris and Patricia live in Poway, where they enjoy gardening, cooking, reading, drawing, walking, yoga, movies, and travel. He is very excited about this opportunity to work at First UU. Chris’ personal goal is to continue providing the best possible support he can to our valued education volunteers and leaders - and make it fun for everyone involved.

His normal weekday work hours will be 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. He will be off on Thursdays and Saturdays. He may be contacted at the Religious Education phone number, 619.298.9978 x 8014, or via e-mail at chris@firstuusandiego.org. Please welcome him as he joins our staff.
- Liz Jones, Director of Religious Education and Family Ministry
