| How Dining for Dollar$ PLUS! Works

1. First UU Members agree to sponsor a dinner, tea, picnic, museum tour with lunch, pool party, brunch, barbecue, sailing expedition, game night, provide a service or other event for our Church Members, Friends, and regular attendees and their families. Proposed event forms are due as soon as possible, but absolutely no later than March 22, 2008.
2. Bidding Books will be mailed to all church members and friends near the end of April, which will also include your individual bidding number. Carefully review the bidding book and select the events you are interested in attending.
3. After each service on May 4, 11, and 18, Church Members, Friends, and regular attendees and their families may enter bids on the bid rosters in Bard Hall. Feel free to buy places at events as gifts for your friends and family, as well as for yourself. We plan to allow bidding by email and by telephone.
4. Typical Starting Bids: Individuals: From $15.00 to $30/person Family Events: $30 for a single parent family of 3 or less; $50 for a family of 4 or more It’s Your Bid: $100/person or $125/Family (for Family Event) Specialty Events: A higher starting bid may be required. Economy Events: Events with more modest prices.
Additional details/instructions will be included in the bidding book and bidding sheet for each event.
5. Be sure to monitor your bids and events because, in the case of some popular events, you might be outbid! The “It’s Yours Bid” (maximum bid) guarantees you seats at the event.
6. Two weeks after the bidding closes, all bidders will receive letters informing them of what they have won or if they were out-bid. Payments by check or in cash only.
Payment Schedule: Single Payment: By July 1, 2008
Two Payments: ½ of bid due by July 1, 2008; final payment due by December 1, 2008. We hope that by spreading out the payment, you will be able to bid on and enjoy more events.
All proceeds go to the church and portions may be tax deductible. If you win a bid, but can’t attend the event, please contact the host and donate your spot to a friend or the Inreach Coordinator – Suzette Southfox (contact Dave or the church office) who can pass it on to new members. Money will not be refunded.
