I joined First Church in 1988. I have served on the Personnel Relations and the Music Committees for several years, acting as Music Chair for 3 years. My wife (Marcia Biller) and I have been choir members for 20 plus years.
Last year I retired from a career as an Administrator and since then I volunteer when needed to drive church members to medical appointments.
I find First Church to be spiritually rewarding but I also value it as a strong and affirming community. By serving as trustee I hope to give back to the community that has so rewarded me.
Recently I joined the San Diego Lawn Bowling club, a game I played as a teen in my native Scotland. I offer any church member a free lesson. The game is a bit like golf though more social and cheaper. As a talkative Scot I like those perks.
