The Ministry Team Council It is the mission of the Ministry Team Council of First UU Church of San Diego to facilitate the work of ministry teams and review important decisions that rise above the ministry team level in light of existing policy. The council may serve in an advisory capacity to ministry teams, ministers, and staff. This council is made up of representatives from each Ministry Team. The Ministry Team Council meets on a monthly basis.

The Board of Trustees writes the policies that allow the Ministry Teams and the Executive Team to make independent decisions, as long as they abide by executive limitations and other goals as set by the Board. In this way, the Board is freed up to become a long-term visioning group, able to discern what goals or ends the congregation wishes to achieve. The Board monitors the progress of the congregation in achieving their goals and monitors the performance of the Executive Team, in terms of their work towards the achievement of those goals. Board members are voted on by the congregation, and their monthly meetings, the third Tuesday of the month, are open to the public. For more information, contact the church office at 619-298-9978.

Journey Toward Wholeness and DRUUMM (Diverse Revolutionary Unitarian Universalist Multicultural Ministries) are two groups that are engaged in anti-racist and anti-oppression activities throughout the entire church community. They are part of each Ministry Team.
