You are warmly invited to get to know us. Knowing that some folks prefer a quiet “checking us out” method while others want to “jump right in” and test the waters….there are many ways you can find out more about this faith community.
Attend Worship. Our Sunday services take place at 9:30 and 11:30. We have a Nursery staffed by professional providers and we have a “wiggle room” in our Meeting House. Children are welcome to enjoy the beginning of each Worship Service with the entire congregation and are then invited to join with the appropriate age group for Religious Education classes.
Docent Tours. On the second Sunday of each month we offer a docent led tour of our church campus after both worship services. You’ll see our canyon side chapel, our stunning mosaic and sculptures, our religious education rooms and learn more about our history.
Stay for Social Hour. After each worship service, volunteers work hard at providing a fabulous offering of coffee, tea and refreshments. We serve organic, fair trade coffee. On many Sundays, homemade, organic and vegan fare is common place. Join us as we visit, renew and socialize on the patio with our five star social hour.
Take a Class The Religious Education program at First Church offers classes of interest year-round.
Attend an Event From concerts to meditation, from theatrical performances to guest speakers, there’s always plenty to choose from on our events and calendar pages.
Get Acquainted Gathering. On the third Sunday of each month, join our Director of Community Life, Suzette Southfox, as she meets with visitors, and new members in an informal “Q&A session.” This “Get Acquainted Gathering” is held in the Lounge between services (10:45 am to 11:15 am).You can find out more about our church history and beliefs, as well as Unitarian Universalism in general. You can also find out about opportunities for getting involved in the many special groups here.
Find Out About Becoming a Church Member. After either worship service the first Sunday of every month, join our Director of Community Life to fill out (or review) the required paperwork, discuss areas of church life you may be interested in exploring, find out what a church pledge is and learn about the benefits and responsibilities of membership. You will also be treated to a “behind the scenes tour” of the campus. |
