Meditation

Meditation has become the cornerstone of the faith of many Unitarian-Universalists, whether their belief is agnostic, theist, or atheist, and whether their orientation is Buddhist, Christian, Jewish, Islamic, or other. Many have found that their own personal mediation experience has been enhanced by the presence and support of others in group mediation. The Meditation/Buddhist Sangha meets regularly. Meetings, at the church, are held Monday evening at 7 p.m. and Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. The Monday evening group begins with a 20 minute silent sitting meditation (followed by a 1 hour Buddhist study group.) The Wednesday meeting begins with a 45 minute meditation at 10 a.m. This meditation can be silent sitting meditation while others do a walking meditation on our church patio. People arrive based on how long they wish to meditate. The meditation is followed by an 11 a.m. Buddhist study group. Some come for all or part of these meetings. You are welcome to drop in.
